Illusions

Virginia City, Nevada is rather surreal. It is very much a mix of fact and fantasy.
It is unlike any other place I have been.

This is the home of the mighty Comstock Mine . At one time there were thousands of workers bustling everywhere. Now the miners are gone but you can still sense their presence when you step into the saloons, walk the worn boardwalks, and glimpse a fleeting reflection of a time gone by in the windows.

These photographs were taken looking into the shop windows with the scene
across the street reflected in the shop window.
They are an illusion of past and present.
